Project June Bug.... a book review

Upon being contacted by author Jackie Minniti to review her first novel, Project June Bug, I happily agreed. A fictitious novel about ADHD? I must admit my curiosity was peeked.
Jackie is a retired teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience in the New Jersey school system. During her career, she worked extensively with ADHD children. Wanting to combine her love of writing with her ADHD knowledge, she recently penned Project June Bug.

The story focuses on Jenna Bianchi, a young lady new to the teaching field. Her world gets rocked when Michael Tayler enters it.

Michael is a student, but not just any student. He has ADHD and has been labeled a "troublemaker." One poetry assignment will light a spark in his young teacher. He will challenge, provoke, resist and eventually, come to admire her.

You will laugh, cry, and cheer as you read about a system that is meant to help children but all too often falters. You will grow to love both teacher and student. Most importantly, you may learn a few things you did not previously know about ADHD.
You can read an excerpt from Project June Bug at the publisher's website.
